Exciting dive into the traditional Japanese Garden culture at Himeji

A Japanese Garden looking towards the UNESCO Himeji Castle
The beginning of the Himeji Princess Garden_Koko-en

The "Princess Garden_Koko-en" is a place that was built for the princess of that time to spend time in. Sadly we arrived there when there was barely time left to explore properly, so my friends and I had to rush through it.

The Japanese traditional buildings and the very beautiful pond of Koi fish have made me dive into ancient Japanese surroundings.
The very beautiful Koi pond

Despite that, the view was mesmerizing and amazing! The Japanese traditional buildings and the very beautiful pond of Koi fish have made me dive into ancient Japanese surroundings. Definitely somewhere I want to go back to to capture the beautiful scenery again!

The vibes the garden was giving was mesmerizing. I felt like I really could picture myself being the princess herself, walking through it while gazing at the white castle in the distance. From what I understood the garden also provides more Japanese traditional experiences, like Japanese tea ceremony for example. For these kinds of services, one obviously has to pay extra for and arrive early enough to be able to participate. Since we arrived 30 minutes before closing time, we sadly couldn't even apply for it.

While going into the castle, one can buy both tickets at once: the ticket for the castle and the ticket to the Princess Garden which is very practical. I highly recommend visiting the White Castle first in the morning and round up the trip by going to the garden in the afternoon!
