Sunset Beach, Miyakojima, Okinawa, Japan
Unfortunately, a typhoon was approaching. We have the most typhoons in August.
What surprised me was that the sea in Miyakojima still retained its greenish-blue color, even under the leaden sky. I always thought the ocean was blue because it reflects the blue sky. When I scooped the water with my hands, it was crystal clear, and the sand at the bottom of the sea was purely white. I wonder what makes the sea appear so breathtakingly blue?
The sun's rays shone through the cracks in the clouds. We stopped by Sunset Beach on our way home. Despite the cloudy weather, we luckily witnessed the beautiful sky slowly being painted with a golden hue. The whole atmosphere was serene, providing a brief moment of calm. I felt grateful for the beautiful day and started to prepare for the upcoming night.
